The Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) is the largest institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. Research there is focused on three main subject areas: matter and material; energy and environment; and human health. The PSI develops, builds and operates complex large-scale research facilities.

Every year more than 2,200 scientists from Switzerland and all over the world come to the PSI to conduct experiments in their unique facilities that are not possible anywhere else.
