Research into regulatory safety

In terms of research into regulatory safety, ENSI awards and coordinates research projects designed to identify and develop current scientific knowledge and expertise and to make the results available to the regulatory process. This research is geared to current regulatory issues and those likely to be relevant in the foreseeable future. ENSI currently supports national and international research in four different areas: «Reactor Safety», «Radiological Protection», «Transport and Waste Management » and «Human influence, Organisation and Safety Culture».

Chapter 1 of this report contains a brief summary of these research projects together with an evaluation of their relevance to safety. Appendix A contains a detailed scientific description of the research.
