Guideline for the Manufacture and Use of Packaging

The „Quality Management Guideline for the Manufacture and Use of Packaging for the Transport of Radioactive Material“ provides recommendations for designers, manufacturers, owners and users of packages for radioactive material either subject to mandatory approval or subject to mandatory testing. The guideline states more precisely the quality assurance requirements referenced in sub-section 1.7.3 of the European Agreements Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID) and by Road (ADR).

The Swiss competent authorities for the transport of radioactive material issue the guideline jointly: the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), Suva and ENSI. The Swiss Association for Technical Inspections (SVTI) contributes to the development of the guideline with its technical expertise.
