ENSI Board
The ENSI Board is the strategic governing body and internal supervisory organ of ENSI. Its remit includes:
- Defining ENSI’s strategic goals
- Monitoring ENSI’s management and supervisory activities
- Electing the Director and other members of ENSI’s Executive Board
The duties of the ENSI Board are stipulated in Article 6, paragraph 6 of the Federal Act concerning the Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate (ENSI Act, ENSIG).
The ENSI Board consists of five to seven members. It is assisted by a Technical Secretariat. In particular, the members of the ENSI Board have specialist knowledge in the field of nuclear safety, as well as management experience. They may not engage in any business or commercial activity nor hold a Federal or cantonal office which would be likely to detract from their independence (Article 6, paragraph 3, ENSIG).
The ENSI Board endeavours to continue strengthening ENSI as a regulatory authority and is committed to the constant improvement of safety. It also aims for openness and transparency, as well as ongoing dialogue with all stakeholders and the general public.
