Extreme weather conditions

The review of prior hazard assumptions and the associated proof are part of the open points from the EU stress test. ENSI has now defined the missing boundary conditions for verification.

The following hazards are of increased relevance for the Swiss nuclear plants:

• extreme wind;
• tornados;
• heavy rain on the plant facilities;
• extreme temperatures in winter and summer;
• and extreme snowfall.
